Flowers of the Forest release their second single ’The Truth Will Set You Free’ from their upcoming EP ‘Atitasha’. Written and composed by Rutt Treima.
“And you’ll see... the truth will set you free” sings Rutti of Flowers of the Forest, offering a lullaby to your heart, spirit and soul.
’The Truth Will Set You Free’ came to me after a strong revelation. It is about my process of something that I had intuitively felt and wondered about. When I arrived at its core and discovered its truth, it gave me a sense of release and freedom.
Finding out about something that has been hidden within can in that moment be very painful and lead you to a journey of introspection. But at the same time, it can also be very liberating and hopefully lead to deep healing.
This can confirm your inner knowing and that it is safe to trust yourself. In the end the choice to embark on a journey of inner healing is yours to make. Accepting and embracing the pain and hurt, acknowledging the injustice or whatever it was that brought you some form of suffering. And then, in time, choosing to forgive, even if you have never been asked for forgiveness... For some, this may be the toughest part of the journey in itself. But forgiveness frees you from the burden, an integral part in letting go of the past.
This song may speak differently to each individual. Being transparent and authentic to yourself. Speaking your heart’s truth does create freedom. This is an invitation to accept who you are, what has been, and how you feel. Embrace yourself, as you are. In truth we are set free.”- Rutt Treima
About Flowers Of The Forest
Flowers of the Forest are a Medicine Music duo hailing from Estonia and Norway.
Rutti Atitasha was born in Estonia to neo-hippie parents that used to sing freedom songs and were part of a local independence movement. Expelled from the former Soviet Union led to a life in various countries in the world and a love for different cultures and traditions. Music has always been a big part of her life, growing up with three musical sisters, playing piano and singing in choirs. She is a devoted student of the mysteries of Life, continuing the travels and journeying the different dimensions of the inner and outer landscapes. The spirit of freedom and compassion is clearly present in her voice and her music. She is also a doula and a visual artist, channelling messages through paintings, poetry and sound.
Sigmund was born in Norway. At 12 he started playing classical guitar, which led to deepening his study of music in college. At the age of 21 he moved to India to study sitar and dilruba, where he spent 1,5 years transforming all his belief systems and former education of music. In 2006 he was diagnosed with MS, lost his ability to play guitar, and was condemned to a life in a wheelchair, which initiated a deep journey of healing and self exploration. He heard the calling and decided to go to the Amazon rainforest in search of healing. After spending some months with a medicine woman he received the gift of total restored health and was completely healed. This great transformative miracle deeply affected all aspects of his life, and shines through the music and his compositions.
